Color Or Treated Hair

How to Answer

Select all treatments or processes you have had done in the last 6 months.
If you had another treatment not on this list, select none of these.
If you haven’t dyed, highlighted or treated your hair in the last 6 months select My hair is natural.

why We ask

You can also tell your hair’s structure by how well it holds a hairstyle, especially with straight and wavy hair.
Sometimes highlighted, colored or treated hair can benefit from extra protection and nourishment. Bleached, highlighted, blonde, silver or gray hair may benefit from purple products.
We recommend waiting 24 – 72 hours after a color or treatment before using any hair products depending on your treatment.

Scalp Moisture

How to Answer

Choose the option that best describes your scalp most recently.
Choose Oily if you feel the need to wash your hair daily.
Choose Balanced if your scalp feels about the same the day after you wash it.
Choose Dry if your scalp feels itchy or flakey, you typically wash every 3-4 days.

Hair Structure

How to Answer

Take a single strand from your hairbrush and lay it down next to a piece of sewing thread. If your hair appears thinner than the sewing thread, you have thin hair. If it seems thicker, it’s likely coarse. Anything in between them would be medium.
You can also tell your hair’s structure by how well it holds a hairstyle, especially with straight and wavy hair.
Fine hair will not hold onto curls very well and looks/feels delicate
Medium hair is relatively easy to style and will hold its shape longer.
Coarse hair can hold curls well, but can be difficult to style as it’s less supple and can become frizzy more easily.

Hair Type

How to Answer

Choose the option that most closely resembles your hair type. If you’re unsure about which category you fall into, leave your hair free of products and let it air dry the next time you wash it.
If your hair dries straight without a bend or curl, then you have straight hair (type 1).
If your hair dries with a slight curve or “S” shape, then you have wavy hair (type 2).
If your hair dries with springy ringlets or corkscrew curl patterns, then you have curly hair (type 3).
If your hair dries with dense spirals or zig-zag patterns and shrinkage occurs as it dries, then you have coily hair (type 4).
